Q. How do I become a member?
A. By having a training responsibility and being employed by a pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, diagnostics company, or veterinary company. Become a member now

Q. What are the benefits of being a member with SPBT?
A. You receive a free subscription (a $100 value) to our quarterly publication, FOCUS, discounted registration for our annual conference and Train-the-Trainer sessions, and members-only access on our Web site. View details on member benefits

Q. How much does it cost to join SPBT?
A. Membership dues are $175 annually.

Q. How long is my membership?
A. Memberships run on a calendar basis, from January to December.

Q. Will my company/employer pay for my membership?
A. Most of our member companies pay or reimburse their trainers to join SPBT.

Q. Is my membership automatically renewed?
A. No. Renewal notices are sent every year in early December. You have 30 days after receiving your notice to renew your dues. Checks made payable to SPBT are accepted, as well as major credit cards: American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover. You can also renew your dues online.

Q. What should I do if I lose my membership card, forget my Member ID number, or need assistance accessing the membership area of the Web site?
A. Please call the SPBT Business Office at (540) 725-3859 or contact us at info@spbt.org. The office is open during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST.

Q. If I join halfway through the year, will I get a reduced membership fee?
A. No, the membership still would remain at $175.00. As a non-profit society, the membership fee is very important to our meeting our annual expenses. Occasionally, we will have a membership drive that will allow trainers who join in November and December to be paid members through December of the following year.

Q. I am a trainer for a vendor (industry partner). May I be a member?
A. No, the by-laws are very specific on this. A member has access to information that could give an industry partner an unfair advantage. SPBT, therefore, is committed to avoiding any possible conflict of interest. How industry partners can get involved

Q. My employer is listed as a member company. Does this mean I don't have to pay an annual fee to be considered a member?
A. No, "member company" refers to any company that has trainers who are members of SPBT.

Q. What happens to my membership if I leave my training position?
A. Your membership is active for the remainder of the calendar year, and your company may submit a new trainer to replace your paid membership.
