Call for Workshops

Our call for 2009 workshops will begin in September 2008.

If you would like to submit a workshop proposal for 2009, please contact Laura Ramos at lramos@spbt.org.

In our ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of our workshop program, we are asking presenters to participate in a more formal selection process. Specifically:

  • You may only submit a maximum of TWO workshops for consideration.
  • We are requiring one reference as well as a listing of previous presentations.
  • Workshop submissions will be reviewed by a panel of SPBT members and staff.
  • Presenters who are selected will participate in at least one conference call with SPBT prior to the conference. All presenters must be on the pre-conference call.
  • SPBT requires all presenters to demonstrate exceptional facilitation and presentation skills in the classroom.
  • Handouts are absolutely mandatory—no exceptions. Slides, worksheets, articles, and other materials are acceptable. You will need to submit your handouts to SPBT prior to the conference.
  • If you are a vendor interested in presenting, we highly recommend that you present with a trainer from the pharma, biotech, or medical device industry. These co-facilitators should play an important role in presenting the material, and they should not provide an endorsement of a product or service during the educational session.
  • Skill-building presentations should provide rich content and practical, concrete advice. Higher-level topics should engage attendees in lively discussion and offer meaningful insights. The workshop should provide key “takeaways” that participants can bring back to their organizations and use to meet their challenges.
  • As always, SPBT will continue its policy that strictly prohibits self-promotion during workshop sessions. Facilitators who violate this policy will not be asked back to SPBT.

We appreciate your participation in this process, and we believe it will provide more opportunities for us to work together to meet the needs of our audience.

Thank you for your continued support of SPBT!
